A village between Fagali’i and Fagamalo on the western most part of American Samoa.

Maloata is the only village on Tutuila island that is not under the living communal tenure system. The entire property of 4,000+ acreage of land is owned/controlled by a single family. The mayor, pulenu’u is under the purview of the office of Samoan Affairs.

Maloata is a 100% agricultural producing property o f various grown products with emphasis of growing different types of flowers in large green houses. The property stretches across ridges within a valley from the ocean shores to inland ridges extending to high elevations. Maloata features a main stream from its source at the highest peak running through the valley to the ocean.
